The Telugu New Year festival or Ugadi comes close on the heels of Holi. It is believed that Lord Brahma started creation on this day.
75 million Telugu speaking people world wide are celebrating Ugadi Today. Telugu is one of the official languages of India.
Ugadi is celebrated grandly in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. It is called Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra and as Ugadi in the other states.
Preparations starts one week before, Houses are cleaned . Every one enjoys shopping for new clothes.
Udagi Day begins with a ritual bath followed by prayers. Every one seeks God’d blessing for their Health, wealth and prosperity and success in the business.
Ugadi is almost the most auspicious time to start a new ventures.
On the day of Ugadi people go to the Temple to listen to the Panchangam (horoscope).These days reading the panchangam is also done in their respective houses.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, RSS World’s largest voluntary organization celebrates Ugadi as their first festival out of the 6 festivals in a year.
When I start a post I have no idea where I'm headed. I love that freedom. I do write otherwise. With outlines and plans, Strategies. But blog writing is like going off for a walk with no predetermined finish.I believe I have a social duty to share the good to common man.It is my duty as a civilised person.

Maha Shiva Rathiri Shivalaya Yatra - 6th Mar 2008
A team of 127 Hindu Devotees have visited Shivalaya Temples in and around Chennai on the Eve of Maha Shiva Rathiri on 6'th March 2008.
This is the 14th Year in a row that a team of energetic young Hindu devotees visited the Temples.
Shri Durai Shankar, State General Secretary Hindu Munnani,also RSS Mahanagar Sangachalak, and Shri H S Govinda , RSS Shetra Pracharak were present in the Shivalaya Proceedings.
The Temples that were visited are
1.Padi, Thiruvaleeswarar Temple
2.Villivakam, Agatheeswarar Temple
3.Ayanavaram, Kasi Vishwanathar Temple
4.Purasawalkam,Shivan Temple
5.Sowcarpet, Ekamabareshwarar Temple
6.Parrys,Broadway, Chennamalleswarar Temple
7.Triplicane,Thiruvoteeswarar Temple
8.Mylapore, kapaleeshwarar Temple
9.Saidapet,Thiru Karaneecwaram Temple
10.Vadapalani,Sri Venkateshwarar Temple
11.Koyambedu,Kurungaleeshwarar Temple
12.Korattur ,Jumbukeshwarar Temple
There were 31 Bikes, 5 Share Auto ,1 Auto and 1 Car that participated in the Shivalaya Yatra
The Young Hindu Youths went to the temple and performed Bhajans, Distributed palmlets describing the Current anti Hindu povaction by the media and the Politicians.
They also sold CDs that descriped the holiness of the Ram's Bridge and the need to drop the Sethu Samudra Project.
