The year 2007 is a fantastic year for Tamil Cinema. It has made107 films in the year, highest compared to last 9 years.

The good thing about Tamil Cinema is that it has come from the mellow Drama state to realistic Cinema .

There is a rumour that Kamal Hassan’s upcoming Dhasavadharam (தசாவதாரம்) will cross 150 Crore Business. So even in the commercial side Kolly Wood is creating mile stones. In this juncture from last year Star Vijay a popular Tamil channel has started Film Awards on all Discipline related to Tamil Cinema.Un like a Jury announcing the results. The best people in the Industry are selected by the common man in Tamil Nadu. In the Context Star Vijay has already sent a Vehicle called Rasigan Express (ரசிகன் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ்). This Rasigan Express will conduct a wide survey about the Tamil Cinema released in year 2007. it will find out who is the best actor, actress, director, producer, comedian etc etc ..

There are 4 special awards that to be given out they are Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan Award for excellence in Cinema, Award for contribution to Cinema, Best Entertainer and Icon of the Year.
